Traditional Daiquiri Recipe
By Jesse | March 24, 2007 |
One of my goals in life is to spend as much time as possible sitting on the beach, smoking cigars, and simply enjoying life. Since I live too far from the beach I have to make do with drinks that take me there. This isn’t some fru fru frozen daiquiri this is the real deal and very refreshing.
Ingredients:
- 2oz White Rum
- 1oz Fresh Lime Juice (Fresh is a must!)
- 1/2oz Simple Syrup
- Chilled Cocktail/MartiniGlass
- Garnish (Lime Wedge/Slice or Mint Leaf)
Directions:
Combine rum. lime juice and simple syrup in shaker with ice and shake well. Pour drink in glass and garnish. Repeat as needed.
Tip:
With all the recipes and drinks I have using lime juice I bought a clear plastic squeeze bottle like restaurants use for ketchup. It holds about six or seven limes worth of juice.

Do you find you lose any freshness in the lime juice by removing it from its ’stay-fresh’ packaging?
Another bar-tender horror story: I once ordered a “daiquiri up” and was served a frozen strawberry daiquiri.
