To this day, Hoegaarden is my wife’s favorite beer.
Back in our dating days, we used to sit at Chinoz in the mall below the twin towers in KL and drink Hoegaarden with our tapas. Good times. Awesome beer.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to Belgium but, I sure remember those white beers. Blue Moon Brewing Co, in Maine does a pretty fair imitation with their Belgian White brew. Would love to find some real ones though!
You can pick Hoegaarden at some places at least where I live. Very good stuff. In fact I’m really tempted to get some tonight.
The supermakets around here don’t do the greatest job in selecting their beer stock. Every now and then I take a ride to Portsmouth, NH where Gary’s discount has a respectable selection. I’ll have to ask next time I am there.
I’ve never had trouble buying it in L.A., Portland, OR, or Atlanta… but I did see some places that it might be tough. (I’m thinking Buffalo here)
Good luck, it’s worth the effort! Blue Moon is OK if you can’t find it, but it’s not even close to the same quality as Hoegaarden! :)
Yeah same here. We got a couple specialty shops that carry it in our area.
