Links: Por Larrañaga and Ashton Cigar Reviews
By Jesse | April 3, 2007 |
Keepers of the Flame reviews the Honduran Por Larrañaga, but wasn’t impressed with this mild cigar.
The Honduran PL is made in Santa Rosa de Copan with Honduran filler and binder, and is finished off with a very smooth and supple Ecuadorian grown wrapper. The Churchill is a standard 7 inches by 48.
The Stogie Guys enjoy the Ashton Classic Sovereign Torpedo.
Right off the bat, the flawless silky golden Connecticut shade wrapper stood out. After a snip with my double guillotine, I noticed pre-light flavors of sweet grass and honey.

Hey, Cigar Jack!
I like your site. The reviews and polls are great. I was suprised to see that water was a significant entry on “what do you drink when smoking a cigar”. I have enjoyed beer and other drinks in the past, but now go with the Agua….I had to give up the beer as I started to like it TOO much, if you know what I mean……
Keep up the great work here, and I’ll be back to see what you have been smoking.
I’ll try one of the La flor Dominicana Double Ligero cigars, and send you “my review” too!

If I’m trying a cigar for the first time I stick with water or ice tea until I know what to expect from it. Coffee and a Strong Cigar or a large quantity of alcohol and a strong cigar can have leave you reeling in no time.
