30th Birthday Smoke

By Jesse | April 19, 2007 |

Well I turned 30 today. Got any suggestions for a cigar to smoke for my birthday? I’m thinking I may breakdown and buy a Partagas 160 or smoke the Ashton VSG a friend gifted me a few weeks ago.

Edit: I meant the 160 not the 150. I wish I could find a 150. heh

I’m partial to the Ashton VSG. I just smoked another while I was on vacation this past week.

Well I’ll have to save the birthday smoke until tomorrow. I suppose tonight I’ll settle for something small to smoke, since I’m pulling a double shift.

Happy Birthday!!!! To celebrate I would smoke a 1964 or maybe an Opus X. A VSG would be okay as well. I would definitley choose between those 3.

The Ashton VSG I’ve got sitting in my humidor is at least a two hour smoke so I’m think I’ll save that for Friday or Saturday.

Tonight I think I’ll have a Sabor Cubano or a H. Upman Corona Major.

I was kinda disappointed in my last PAM64 but I think it was the weather. I noticed cigars don’t burn right in colder weather. That and the shaking makes it difficult to smoke. lol

Happy Birthday! Since I have only had the Ashton VSG that would be the only one I could recommend of your selections.

I must be missing out by not smoking the Ashton VSG more often. Everyone seems to love it and I’ve read a ton of comments on it lately.

Padron Anniverary 1926 #2…my Go-To stick for any special occassion that I can exploit to smoke one of these out of my stash. Although I did smoke an OpusX after my engagement, but that was largely because it was a gift from a friend and I felt guilty not to smoke it.

Thompson Cigar still has Partagas 150s if you’re really hellbent on smoking that stick. You can even get them in 5-packs, but they’re spendy: Like $144 for a 5-er of Rothschild size…come on CigarJack, that’s just shy of $30/stick and you only turn 30 once! You’ve earned it!
