[...] The unlit draw had a faint tangy leather taste, which I found appealing. After picking up my Saturday morning cup of Joe at Dunkin Donuts I pulled over in the parking lot to light it up. On the first few draws of the cigar I picked up a flavor and aroma that reminded me of buttered popcorn, which smoothed out into a profile of roasted nuts and leather. The hardest flavor I had identifying was a sweeter spice with very subtle hints of licorice and clove. I’m going to have to smoke a few more to really pin these flavors down, but next time I plan to let these sit in my humidor a bit longer prior to smoking them. I did have some burn issues with these cigars and had to touch them up quite a bit, and had them go out on me a couple times as well. The burn issues led to a flaky ash that otherwise would have held on quite well. Verdict: A good mild cigar with a complex flavor profile. If you enjoy a mild cigar don’t hesitate picking these up. The price is a little high for my taste and that prevents this from becoming more than an occasional smoke for me. I’m also a bit put off by the issues I had with the burn. A bad burn can ruin the flavor profile if you have to constantly touch it up or relight it. Similar Cigars: A couple other nice mild and cheaper cigars are the Chateau Real and the Casa Torano. [...]
