Smoke Notes: Ashton VSG Wizard
By Jesse | June 4, 2007 |
I plan to give the Ashton VSG another chance, but so far I’m not impressed. They are spicy and have nice flavor, but come across as kind of a one trick pony. I just can’t see spending this much for a cigar that doesn’t have some complexity. Maybe my taste was off last night so I’ll try a couple more, but for the money if I want a peppery spice bomb I’ll stick with a Partagas Black.

I couldn’t agree with you more.

It’s a shame to hear that, I’ve been wanting to try the out the Wizard. To be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve smoked an Ashton VSG. I remember really liking it, but I’ve smoked quite a few good cigars since then that I’d never tried before. Maybe it’s time I had a re-evaluation smoke myself! :)

The price of this cigar is 3 times what it’s actually worth. Some people love it, but it’s an extremely boring and rather tasteless cigar to me.

You know, I’m very disappointed in this as well. I was schooled on the classic and graduated over the years and have an affinity for the manufacturer since Oliva V’s are my go to. All this aside, this cigar in one dimentional and uneventful. If anyone wants to buy a box cheap less three, let me know. Thanks!
