Three Cigars You Need to Smoke this Weekend.
By Jesse | July 20, 2007
It doesn’t matter if you are playing golf, going for a road trip or just sitting at home you need to try one of these cigars this weekend.
- Oliva Serie V: This new cigar by Oliva is fantastic. This cigar can go head to head with some of the higher end premium cigars and beat them.
- Aurora 100 Anos: Get these cigars while you can as the last batch has been released to the public and once they are gone they are gone for good.
- Don Pepin Blue Label: Even with some of issues I have had with the construction of this cigar I can’t help but recommend it. These cigars have an outstanding flavor profile that I’ve yet to taste in anything but a Pepin cigar.
Please drop a comment and let me know what you think of these cigars if you get the chance to try them.

Did you manage to get your hands on some 100 Anos? Damn that’s a great smoke….

Not yet, I’m going hunting for them this weekend. I got told of a couple local places that have them.

It’s funny you mention the Oliva Serie V, I just smoked the Churchill Extra last night! Overall, I’d say this was a fantastic cigar. It’s definitely full bodied, but very, smooth and tasty, butt to head. It also has a great room aroma.
It will sneak up on you, it is pretty potent. You definitely don’t want to smoke this fella if you have work to do, or someplace to drive! Save it for the evening! The only thing I’d do differently is pick a smaller size! This ‘gar kept me puffing for around 2 hours and 20 minutes. (Yes, I am a slow smoker, but it is 7 x 52!)

I’ve got a Churchill Extra in my Humidor from the local Oliva event and I’m scared of the thing. I really love the robusto and I think the Figurado is a work of art. Usually smooth cigars are on the mild side but this one is a dream. Oliva has done something right with these cigars. I think a years rest wouldn’t hurt a box of these though to take some edge of the strength.

You’re right to be intimidated by that Churchill! :) I definitely was, but overall, I’d say it treated me well. I also have a figurado to try out. (You’re right, that’s a beauty.) But to be honest with you, if I were buying these, I’d be all over the robusto.
The word is that this cigar was blended and re-blended based on the feedback of the Oliva fans and some very lucky guinea pigs! I think people were calling for smooth cigars with some power under that wrapper. I don’t think I’ve ever smoked anything like it.
