Here is the reality folks. The cigar industry is now on the radar of congress. If SCHIP gets vetoed as Bush promises. There will be another bill that will come along that needs financing. Congress, agian will target the cigar industry for funds. It will not stop. Cigar smokers are an easy taget. We have perceived financial wealth and we are few in numbers. Congress doesn’t care what we think.
Therefore, all the bithcing we do to each other is watsed effort. As stated before, if you want to vent, we need to write our Senators and Congressmen and stop the madness!
This is the future of the industry. So, I would like to see more postings of responses from our congressmen. Their words speak reality.
STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s really a shame that we can be targeted just because we like cigars. I know plenty of people that aren’t wealthy that enjoy cigars. Heck, almost every guy I know likes a good cigar and we aren’t what you would call affluent. It’s silly that someone else can tell me what I can and can’t do in America. We’re really goin downhill, guys.

The downhill slide has been going for years. It’s only going to get worse. Pretty soon the place for an American to be is an ex-pat living abroad.

If they want new highways, they raise gas taxes.
New parks and schools they raise property taxes.
If they want to provide health care for children they raise taxes on Cigars? Excuse me but that logic somehow escapes me. Oh wait… Congress and special intrests… DUH!
