SCHIP Bill Passes Senate 68-31

By Jesse | August 3, 2007 |

Well the bad news is the bill passed with enough votes to override a veto in the Senate, but the House version did not have enough votes to override a veto. They are now in the process of working out the differences. It looks like there may have been an amendment to lower the cap from $10.00 a cigar to $3.00 that was approved, which is still too much. KaiserNetwork.org has a good neutral write up on the bill.
