Description: At the RTDA show this year, I was able to nab Heavenly’s two newest flavors, the Mango-Licious and the Mojito Madness. Though eager to try them both, I held off until now so that I could work with a clean palate. This review is all about the Mojito. Described as ‘the prefect infusion of mint, lime, and a kick of rum’, this cigar lived up to that promise. Draw was excellent, construction was firm, and the ash was a beautiful white that held on for at least an inch before I decided to tap it off. Again, my lighting was a bit off, but the burn evened out in no time and not once did I have to touch it up.
My first puff upon lighting had a nice sweet flavor due to the dipped tip, but also had a hint of that stated mint and lime in there. As I smoked further, the tip lost it’s sweetness, but those infused flavors only came out more, now that I was no longer distracted (it was a pleasant distraction, one that I quite enjoyed) by the tip. I’m happy to say that 2/3 of this cigar kept a nice even flavor, and was suprised by the final third as the mint really started kicking in while the other two flavors mellowed out a bit underneith it. I was slightly disappointed when I had to put it out with 1/4 left due to other obligations.
Verdict: This is probably one of the best flavored cigars I’ve had in awhile. Just enough flavor to keep it interesting, but not enough to drown out all the natural tobacco taste. While I’ve been moving away a bit from the flavored cigars a bit, I do believe I’ll be picking up some of Heaven’s other flavors on my next trip to the cigar shop.
Similar Cigars: Oliveros has put out a Cuban Mojito that I have yet to try. Other than that, I’m not aware of any other Mojito flavored cigars on the market. As far as flavored ones go though, there’s always the CAO Flavours variety that could be comparable.
