Description: This Nicaraguan Puro is blended for United Tobacco Inc by the legendary Pepin Garcia. The Green Label Oscuro is latest addition to the EO 601 line released at 2007 RTDA Trade Show. Touted as the fullest bodied cigar of the EO 601 brand, it isn’t for the faint of heart.

All the EO 601′s I’ve smoked so far have been superbly constructed and this cigar isn’t an exception. The wrapper is dark, a bit toothy, and finely veined. Even when just testing the draw I could tell this cigar was going to be a monster as it proceeded to bite my tongue. As I expected the cigar is earthy with a bold spicy flavor. I was able to discern a body of coffee and cocoa while the bite came from cayenne pepper that ran throughout the cigar. The spicy flavor continually got stronger throughout the cigar, but never unpleasantly harsh. This definitely has more kick than the Blue Label Maduro which I think comes across a bit smoother. You will need to be a bit cautious with this cigar, as it is strong and will knock you on your butt if you smoke it too fast.

Verdict: Another fantastic addition to the EO 601 Brand. If you are a fan of Full-Bodied/Full-Strength cigars you’ll enjoy these. It is a fun cigar to smoke because of the complexity. I spent much of the time trying to discern the flavors in it.

Similar Cigars: The Partagas Black is similar but not as complex or as strong. The closest you’ll find to this cigar I think are the EO 601 Blue and the Don Pepin Blue Label. The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro Chisel is another similar cigar in strength but I don’t think it matches in complexity.
