Description: The Connecticut Ambassador is the most mild cigar line to come out of Arganese cigars. Typically I’m not a huge fan of mild cigars, but I do have some that I enjoy smoking, especially in the morning. What I’m looking for in these such smokes is a low strength, a pleasant flavor, and a nice smoothness.
This cigar is well constructed, no major veins in the wrapper, and was on the soft side for firm. Some of the cigars did have some green discoloration to the wrapper, but this didn’t really change how the cigar smoked. The draw was very easy without much resistance. My real complaint is that I wish they’d use less glue on the bands as half the time when I’d try to remove them, they would rip a bit of the fragile Connecticut Shade wrapper.
Once lit that nice construction continues to show up, producing a nice even burn and tight white ash. You really had to give that tight white ash a good tapping to knock it loose. The cigar was smooth and very easy to smoke, which makes it a prime choice for anytime of the day. Leather and field grass came across as the dominate flavors with hints of another spice I cannot quite describe. It also had an aromatic cedar smell that came through in the smoke, adding to the flavor profile. Don’t let that description put you off as it is very enjoyable cigar with a cup of coffee in the morning.
Verdict: The Connecticut Ambassador is good mild cigar. For it’s is price, I’d pick it up if I was at a shop that carried them, but I wouldn’t drive 45 minutes to the closest shop specifically for them. I haven’t seen many sources yet carrying them online, but I’ll let you know if I find any.
Similar Cigars: In no particular order, some other good mild cigars similar to this are the Casa Torano, the Chateau Real, and the Carlos Torano Reserva Selecta.
Thanks to Arganese for the cigars and if you are interested in these cigars enter this contest.

I just smoked one for the first time. I like it. Great ash, doesn’t unravel, nice draw.
