Description: The Arganese Maduro Presidente is described as a full-bodied and complex cigar. It is a bit rough looking with some larger veins in a Brazilian wrapper, and the construction is what I’d consider to be a touch soft, but consistent. I found the draw to be easy, so on my last one I switched over from my usual cutter to a punch to give myself some more resistance. One thing to keep a note on however, is that the ash has a tendency to flakes easily, and not hang on too well.
The cigar lit easily and was accompanied by a huge amount of chewy, white smoke. An espresso flavor came on strong from the get go, and mixed itself with some scattered hints of pepper. I’ve noticed that this cigar burns fairly quick, and in no time at all I was already through the first half of the cigar. At that point I discovered that the espresso flavor began competing with a dark chocolate, while the pepper spiciness stayed in the background enough that the smoke stayed smooth. This combination stayed consistent until the last inch at which point the cigar began getting a bit too hot to be enjoyable.
Verdict: A good cigar along with a good price range, I’ll keep a few of these on hand as they are a nice medium-full bodied cigar that I can smoke at almost any time of the day.
Similar Cigars: I suggest you try the Sabor Cubano or Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 if you enjoy cigars with this flavor profile and can’t get your hands on these.
Thanks to Arganese Cigars for providing the cigars for this review.

Great review. I still haven’t tried anything from Arganese yet, but that’s going to change soon.
I’ve been hearing a lot about the company in the past few weeks. Looks like the Arganese marketing team is working overtime to establish a brand.

They do have some good cigars and I hope they succeed. I have not seen these cigars at any online retailers, just Brick and Mortar. Their B&M presence is fairly large though at least judging by the map on their site.

Jesse- I too have been impressed with the Arganese cigars that I’ve tried so far. We’ll have a review of up in the next few weeks.
By the way, how about that Gene Arganese? He just wanted to find a cigar maker to make his own private line and he ended up buying a Dominican factory and starting his own cigar company.
Today, we’ve got a contest to win 3 cigar sampler packs of Arganese Cigars.
So for those who don’t win your contest, they can come try their luck at ours!

To add to the Arganese reviews, I agree with the positive comments regarding the Maduro Presidente Robusto. After trying it this will be one of my regular weekend smokes. In addition, upon meeting Gene Arganese he was kind enough to provide samples of his Double Wrapper and the Maduro Presidente Figurado. These cigars brought a smile to my face and I can only hope that more smokers discover these fine cigars. The quality comes through.

We met him in Santiago and he certainly takes the time to talk cigars. You should get in touch with him as he is very proud of his cigars and does provide that personal touch that is missing with some.

I’ve been in touch with him, and plan to go to the Dominican Republic to visit.
