32-Count Deluxe Travel Humidor

By Jesse | September 25, 2007

32 Count Travel HumidorOne of the best things about smoking cigars is getting together with other cigar smokers. However, this means that you’ll have to travel with your cigars. In the past, I’ve used plastic bags, plastic food containers, and also boxes in the times when my simple 5-count travel case just won’t do. I’ve been wanting a larger travel humidor for awhile, but was debating on what size I should purchase for my upcoming herfing needs. I eventually chose a 32-Count Deluxe Travel Humidor from Cigar Solutions.

32 Count Travel Humidor wth ContentsThe Deluxe model comes with 4 Robusto size foam trays that hold (8) cigars each, and 4 Churchill size foam trays that hold (6) each. The humidor can only hold four of the trays at one time, but what’s nice is that you can use the different sizes to customize the configuration to suit your needs. Another bonus, even when full, the trays leave enough room to slip in a Boveda Pack for climate control if you plan to keep your cigars in there for an extended period of time.

32 Count Travel Humidor FullI got to test out just how well my cigars were protected shortly after filling it. I left the room for a few minutes only to come back and find my 18 month old son carrying it around (which also translates into ‘banging it into everything’) and using it as a step stool. However, it really isn’t too surprising that he couldn’t destroy it as this thing is extremely sturdy and very well made. I’ve used a couple cheaper travel cases in the past which could never take that much abuse. I ended up with a handle broken on one and a seal going bad on another. I don’t see those issues being a problem with this humidor. It has a water tight seal, a heavy duty handle, and latches that will take a beating, even from 18 month olds. Also, for the overly paranoid, the case has a couple different spots to place additional locks. On a final note, this humidor is also American made, which made me happy to see something affordable and of such good quality made here in the States.

Thanks to Ron at Cigar Solutions for providing the travel humidor to review.

I’d be happy to review one too! LOL! Looks like a great accessory for taking your herf on the road. Right now I’m using a 15-cigar case I picked up at RTDA that never seems to fit more than about 12 cigars at time. (I guess I should get more into lonsdales and lanceros!)

Selecting cigars to take to the RTDA and how to travel with them is what clued me in that I needed the biggest travel humidor I could find.
