Happy Halloween

October 31, 2007

Well, it looks like I won’t be publishing any reviews this week. Work and family events ate up most of my free time. The Stogie Guys have some great cigar related costume ideas. I had a great costume idea, but then Chuck Norris called and said I couldn’t go as him, because I don’t have [...]

What Did You Smoke This Weekend?

October 29, 2007

I had a chance to smoke quite a few cigars this weekend, but didn’t really get a chance to write a review. The greatest part of this weekend was going over to my Sister-in-law’s Halloween party and cracking open the travel humidor and making some new friends over some great cigars. Anyway this is what [...]

Oliva Cigar Website Review

October 26, 2007

This is our second installment of the weekly cigar website review. This week I’m taking on the maker of some of my favorite cigars, Oliva Cigars. Cigar Information: A- Oliva does a good job of posting the details on their cigars, but I found a few things that were inaccurate. The most obvious one I [...]

CAO America Potomac Cigar Review

October 22, 2007

The CAO America was added to the CAO stable of cigars this year at the RTDA/IPCPR Trade Show. Like most CAO cigars, it is a good looking cigar that is well constructed but unlike the others, the America has dual wrappers that gives the stick a beautiful pin stripe effect. I had a few at the show but my taste buds were so burned out by the time I tried them I couldn’t tell much about it in terms of flavor. The cigar is firm, but I did find the draw a touch easy.Lighting up and taking a few puffs I was immediately hit with leather flavor and some nuttiness. These flavors pretty much stayed consistent throughout the first half with some coffee added to the mix. At mid point, while the leather stayed dominant, the nuttiness faded to the back and allowed the coffee note to come to the front. The America stayed predominately this was for the remainder of the cigar.

Friday Cigar Site Review #01

October 19, 2007

I’m trying a new idea out, by reviewing not only cigars, but cigar manufacturer websites. Anyone that has tried to find information about a cigar company knows how frustrating it can be when the company’s website is poorly made, woefully out of date, and/or uses more Flash than a rapper has bling. The first victim [...]
