I live right next to the city of big shoulders, hog butcher to the world. Where men are men and liberals are running the city into the ground.

Here we go again. The liberal "do-gooders" thinking for me. STOP!!!! Now I can no longer smoke on the beach or in the public parks. Great! They state smoking offends people. If that is the case, please ban the following actions that offend me:

1. Obese human beings walking around eating a 20 inch Turkey Leg in one hand and 30 gallongs of Pepsi in the other at the Taste of Chicago.
2. Fat moms and fat kids stuffing their face with ice cream, pizza, soda, candy bars, etc.
3. City buses that let out more pollution than a whole city block of smokers.
4. Homosexuals holding hands
5. Rat dogs carried under the arms of the elite housewife.
6. Smelly cab drivers
7. Newspapers. How many trees must die~!
8. The "L". The train cause noise pollution and is harmful to my hearing.
9. Cars made before 2000. Let's ban all cars made before emmissions regulations were established.
10. Corrupt city officials taxing the few to feed the many.

Instead of picking on smokers. Start taxing waist sizes, cholestrol levels, blood pressure, insulin levels, PSA scores, etc. These are what is causing the excess waste in the healthcare system. Not smokers. If it is that bad, makie smoking illegal. Oh thats right, you want our tax dollars. Well kiss my ass!

Also, what offends one may not offend the other. So,STOP FUCKING THINKING FOR ME!

Thanks for letting me vent. Have a nice day.

I like to chug my beer then ash my smoke in the can before chucking them both out the car window. (hehe joking!!)

I'm actually a fairly conscienscious smoker, I put my butts where they belong. Cigars don't even contribute to the problem but if you must flick your cigs, try Camels or other brands that use biodegradeable cotton filters. (A pointer I picked up when I accidentally found myself in the middle of a local Greenpeace rally!)

Granted I do admit idiots who throw their cigarette butts everywhere annoy me. Heck even though cigars are all leaves I try and dispose of my cigar butts without littering. Empty beer cans make great ashtrays. :)

These legislations are paper thin and yet they pass with flying colors. None of the arguments stated in that press release even make sense. It seems these days any new legislation with the keywords "ban smoking" pass uncontested. Even when smokers do stand up it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Second-hand smoke at a beach or a park is a joke. It's just harassment in the name of Political Correctness. A family of 4 driving their SUV around the beach parking lot generates 100 times the harmful pollution that a Marlboro or Cohiba does.

If they have an issue with litter, the logical approach is to issue fines for people caught flicking their butts, or anything. Outlawing smoking for this reason is like outlawing fast-food because hungry people litter. It's prejudicial and it's just plain wrong.
