When this cigar first came out, I believe that according to the ads & marketing info I saw from La Flor Dominicana, you were supposed to just punch a hole in the chisel's head, not clip it at all. I think I even made reference to this in an old review of the cigar, which I can't find right now. A V-cut would work well, too, if that's the case.

I heard that this cigar should be cut like normal but then place a small hole at the top and bottom so that you can taste all the flavor this cigar has to offer. Does anyone know if this is true???

I punch it when I've got a punch with me, but I seemed to have misplaced mine so I've just been clipping the end.

This is an outstanding cigar. I've smoked a few of them, most recently last Friday over 10 or 11 rounds of billiards. Agree with your analysis of the flavor profile, and will add that this is heaven for fans of full-bodied, full-flavored cigars. I found the Maduro balanced things out quite nicely, which is unusual to find in a cigar with such cojones.

I'm curious to know whether you punched the top of the chisel (as I recently learned is intended). I've been going with a notch-cutter across the chisel's tip.

Nice review!
