Last Smoke in Chicago

by Daniel on December 26, 2007

Okay, so Christmas is over. And since the smoking ban is to take effect on January 1 in Chicago, it's time to go out with a bang.

What to smoke, what to smoke? Any suggestions? I'm thinking vintage Davidoff...

You should make it something really big that produces lots of smoke. A Salomon or an “A”. Something like that….

I say a Rocky Patel Old World Reserve. Lots of smoke, lots of flavor, and they take about 2-1/2 hours to smoke…

Granted I haven’t kept it in a humidor, because I never planned on smoking it, and didn’t have room for it anywhere. So if you want it I got a Perdomo Cuban Parejo Galaxia (10″ x 100) if you want it. :)

I’m thinking I want to check out the Don Pepin El Centurion. Anyone here tried that yet?

Is this a ban on smoking in public places (like bars and restaurants), on the street, or in general??

Public places. Next up: the comfort of my living room.

I’m no cigarette smoker, but while I think it’s a mistake to lump cigars into the ban, it’s a shame that cigarette smokers are being treated like social derelicts. Total discrimination, in my mind.

It doesn’t matter what you smoke as long as you smoke as many as you can before the time expires. Recommendations: plenty of robustos.

I’m going with a La Aurora 100 Anos Belicoso on my porch on New Year’s Eve. In the past few months I noticed that Chicago bars were becoming more and more cigar un-friendly. Two exceptions in the parts of town I go out in are the Dark Horse in Wrigleyville and Lange’s on Southport. I’m heading to Lange’s tonight – haven’t decided what to smoke yet, though.
