Nice Guys Cigars Smoke Notes

By Jesse | December 27, 2007

I didn’t have enough cigars to really give an in depth review of each blend. I thought I’d at least share my notes with you on each one, especially since I’m giving away these cigars at then end of the month.

Chris Alberti, the owner of Nice Guys Cigar Emporium in Rochester, NY set out to create his own brand for his shop and not satisfied with third party offerings, he set out to the Dominican Republic to have a hand in perfecting the blends himself. I came across these cigars through Egars.com and they offered some up to me to review and another five pack to give away as part of December’s Contest. On to the cigars…

Nice Guys ConnecticutConnecticut: Typically I’m a full bodied cigar smoker, lately I’ve been finding I enjoy a cigar with a good Connecticut Shade Wrapper. I really enjoyed this one. A nice mild smoke, goes great with a cup of coffee. I picked up some definite woodiness and leather on this smoke.

Nice Guys SumatraSumatra: Also picked up some woodiness in this cigar along with hints of Scotch and some semi-sweet chocolate. I’d say this was a mild to medium bodied cigar very enjoyable but watch what you pair it with as it can end up over powering the smoke.

Nice Guys BrazilianBrazilian: A great medium boded smoke with some interesting flavors. I picked up some dark bitter chocolate on the first part of the cigar and something reminded me a bit of fresh baked sourdough bread. In the last half I picked up some leather, and black pepper along with the steady chocolate flavor. I’d love to see this cigar kicked up a notch into a fuller bodied smoke.

All of these cigars were well constructed and had flawless burn and draw. Definitely some interesting blends that are worth checking out.
