Well since everyone is doing weekly link round ups anymore I thought I’d try something a bit different. Every Saturday I’m going to focus on one cigar we’ve reviewed here give you some brief details on it and links to other reviews from around the web.
For the 1st Edition of Cigar Links I’m going to focus on my top cigar or 2007 the San Cristobal by Ashton Cigars. I reviewed the San Cristobal Fabuloso in December of 2007 and obviously I loved it.

The San Cristobal is a joint venture between Ashton Cigars and Don Pepin Garcia, and was released at the 2007 RTDA Trade Show. Both are legends in their own right and the cigar they produced is going to be one of the hottest cigars for years to come.
David Savona of Cigar Aficionado got a chance to try the cigar back in July 2007 and was very impressed with it. I have to agree with him though, I don’t think I’m ready for a Don Pepin salad.
Brian Hewitt of Stogie Review was impressed with the Guajiro and wears the band around as a pinky ring and doing his impressions of Dr. Evil. He reviewed it in October 2007.
Lucky7 at Keepers of the Flame reviewed the Fabuloso in September 2007, while impressed with it he thought it needed some time to rest before hitting its peak.
Elephant Hunter at Toro Cigars smoked the Guajiro and thought the cigar definitely lived up to the hype reviewing it in December 2007. His recommendation is to buy them now.
Cigar Smoking Man tried the Clasico with some home roasted coffee. Another December 2007 review, good grief was everyone talking about this cigar in December?
Alright this is your chance to chime in. What are your thoughts on this cigar? Not to mention the fact that your comments here gives you a chance to win January’s Contest.

I like this idea Jesse. It’s a creative twist on the weekly roundup. Kudos.
Agree with what matt said.
Also piqued my interest more to try this one. I’ve read about them, but haven’t brought myself to shell out the money for one. I generally enjoy Ashton’s products as well as stuff by DPG…so it seems like this would be a win win.
@Matt: Glad you like it. So far I think I prefer this over what I previously did.
@Aaron: You are seriously missing out, this is my favorite DPG stick so far.
Good roundup, a little more interesting than everyone pointing out what everyone else is smoking, it also brings up reviews that may have been missed because they were done a long time ago.
So far as the San Cristobal goes I think it will appeal to the Pepin fans way more than the Ashton loyalists simply because it is a very powerful and complex cigar. Definiately aimed at the VSG smoker more than the regular Ashtons which are notably mild, the San Cristobal can be a rude awakening for anyone expecting a mellow Ashton.
Yeah considering there is really only a handful of sites that do consistent reviews and everyone is probably already reading them I felt a different approach was needed.
The San Cristobal definitely won’t appeal to your typical Ashton smoker. But I’m sure the VSG smokers will love it.
I loved this one. I’ve had it twice now. The first time on its own, the second as my choice smoke for celebrating Repeal Day (marking the end of Prohibition). I don’t often smoke Ashton’s, but this one was a real stand out.
