Graycliff Espresso Black Label PG Cigar Foot View Description: The Graycliff Espresso is billed as a full bodied cigar that packs a punch. The wrapper was little rougher looking with with a large vein running through it. Overall though the construction was great, a nice even draw and though slightly soft it wasn’t unacceptable and probably rolled that way intentionally. I was reminded of rich dark chocolate from looking at the wrapper.

Enough talk about aesthetics, I know what you all want is the details on how it smoked.

My first impression of the cigar is very smooth with a bitter dark chocolate flavor, it is very easy to just let this smoke roll around in your mouth and exhaling it out your nose. This is one of those cigars that I love to enjoy all on its own with a glass of water. I’d say the main flavor profile to be chocolate and coffee with some hints of spices and woodiness. The burn was even with a nice dark gray ash. I burned this cigar down to a nub, nearly blistering my fingers, a true sign of a great cigar.

Verdict: I was very impressed by this cigar, but the price tag leaves me hesitant in purchasing anymore. It is a nice smooth medium-full bodied cigar with some complexity to it.

Similar Cigars: I’d probably save a few bucks and get myself the Padron Anniversary Maduro.

Sounds like a great cigar, Jesse. And, I think I can actually get Graycliff’s here in Canada. However, the price tag does make me hesitant. This might be one where I just buy the occasional single stick for special occasions, rather than buying a whole box.

Definitely just an occasional cigar for me, especially since so many good cigars can be had for under $10.

[…] Cigar Jack: Jesse kicks back with a thoroughly enjoyable Camacho Triple Maduro (check out Walt’s review back in October) and suffers some sticker shock with the Graycliff Espresso. […]
