Description: I was gifted a couple of these a while back, finally had the chance to smoke one! Good looking box-pressed cigar - dense and hefty, with a dark brown wrapper. A few heavy veins protruding, but looked to be a solid construction.
Easy clip, easy draw, giving me prelit flavors of tobacco and nuts. Easy light, with first impressions of creamy nutty leather, very nice blend. This central theme lasted throughout, picking up a bit of black pepper toward the end. Not bad at all!
Terrific burn. I found the ash to be a bit flakey, but I didn’t really care, since I was outside when I smoked it. I tossed it with about an inch left, kinda got bored with it. A little over an hour to smoke to that point.
Medium Flavor, Medium Strength.
Verdict: I’m not going to break down doors in search of this one. I would like to try a smaller vitola, perhaps a corona.
Similar Cigars: Don Lino, Rosa Cuba, maybe even a lighter version of the Joya de Nicaragua.
