Illusione Cigars Website Review
By Jesse | February 8, 2008
I’ve been meaning to review the cigars from Illusione for awhile now, but every time I’m smoking them I get so wrapped up in smoking the cigar I forget to take notes. I’m going to start off by taking a look at their website and we’ll focus on the cigars sometime next week.
The Cigars: B+
The Good:
- All Sizes/Brands Listed
- Photos of All Cigars
- Short Description on Each
The Bad:
- Descriptions are Short
- No Breakdown of the Blend
Alright usually I’d really harp on the fact that they don’t break down the blend. The reason I don’t do it so much here is that these cigars are Nicaraguan Puros, but I’d still like to see more information listed on the cigars themselves. To get the details about the blend you have to dig through The Illusion Story portion of the site and that doesn’t tell you enough.
Company Information: C
The Good:
- Contact Page
- Story of the Cigars
The Bad:
- No Company History
- No Phone Number
- No Press Information
This is an area where they are sorely lacking on information. There is no background on the company or the man behind it. I hope they are good about checking their emails, because I don’t seen any other way to get a hold of them. I did like the story of the cigars and found it informative.
Website Features and Usability: B
The Good:
- Easy to Navigate
- Links to Other Sites? (See Below)
- Where to Buy Section
The Bad:
- All Flash Site
- Where to Buy Section could be better.
- Need Press and Events Section
- Can not Skip Intro
This website is very straight forward and to the point, it is to give you information about the cigars and where to buy them. I’d like to see a press section and a listing of events. I think the Where to Buy Section could be a bit better by giving you the option to search by state or zip code. I’d also like to know what the heck the Society is besides a collection of links.
Recommendations:
Illusione has one of the better all Flash websites I’ve seen. I thought it was a bit minimalist and they could take better advantage of the web by using either a blog or newsletter to communicate with the consumers, along with an Events section.

To be honest, I’ve never tried any Illusione cigars. Are they any good?

Really good, but they are getting to be hard to find. The demand is getting to be huge for them.

Yeah, I remember reading about them in CA’s top 25 list for 2007.

Interesting…a web site review before the cigar?
I can’t wait until the sites incorporate smell-o-vision…I want to smell that thing!
