Avo Cigars are some of the first cigars I tried when I first started trying different cigars. I enjoyed them, but I think I would have appreciated them more if I knew the story behind them.
The cigars are blended for Avo Uvezian by Hendrik Kelner. Avo is a legendary jazz musician and cigar aficionado, while Hendrik Kelner produces some of the finest cigars to come out of the Dominican Republic.
The AVO 787 is one of the newest editions to the AVO cigar line and my current favorite. You can read my review of the AVO 787 Perfecto to see my thoughts on it.
Alright so enough of that, here is what others thought of the cigar.
Smoke Magazine gave the AVO 787 Perfecto a 9.4 Rating.
Gary Korb at Cigar Advisor enjoyed the AVO 787 while spending the weekend with his father.
SR400 at Smoke Ring Blog enjoyed the cigar, but seemed to have a struggle getting the band off. AVO Cigar Bands, I’ve noticed, don’t exactly come off without getting ripped.
I’m surprised, that I couldn’t find more reviews on this cigar. Maybe this will encourage some of the other guys out there to get off their butts and give this cigar a try.

Avo’s are my favorite marca hands down. Yes, I will spend money on an aged box of Avo 77′s or 22′s before I buy anything else, and I mean anything. I love the 787 Perfecto this is a true Avo cigar. I do not write reviews… all I can say is YUMMMMMMMMMMMM
Oh and yes, why are Avo Bands so hard to get off?
I think it has to do with the type of paper they use. It bonds really well with the glue. At least I’ve never had an issue with ripping the wrapper.
