Carlos Torano Website Review

By Jesse | February 29, 2008

Torano has long been one of my favorite brands. Denise reviewed the Reserva Decadenica a few days after the RTDA and when looking for information on the cigar it wasn’t listed yet on Torano’s Website. It is long overdue but I’m finally reviewing Torano’s Site.

Carlos Torano Cigars Website

Cigars: C

The cigars they do list have good descriptions and a nice breakdown. Pictures are hit and miss. Some of the cigars have photos of all the sizes, some don’t. What I’m really disappointed in is the fact that they released the Reserva Decadencia at the RTDA Trade Show in August 2007 and they still don’t have a section for it. To get details on this cigar I had to dig through press releases and refer to other sites. They do list ratings for their cigars from the big magazines.

The Company: A

They have everything here that I want to see. A good company history, a press section and contact information. It appears they might be a little behind with some of the press releases, other than that everything is up to date.

Website Features and Usability: A

Torano does really well here. The only thing that bothers me is the Store section, which pushes the limits of coming soon. They have an active forum, an up to date events section and a retailer locater.

The site has a simple clean design, that’s easy to navigate. No Flash or annoying music to try and entertain you. Just a good website that provides the information about the company and the cigars.

Recommendations:

The cigar section is what needs some work. It is out of date and they aren’t very consistent about showing pictures of all the sizes. They’ve also had some big news about a deal with CAO and I don’t see any information regarding that on their site.

Anyone have any suggestions for manufacturers to review next week?
