Cigar Links Edition 8: CAO Vision
By Jesse | March 1, 2008
This week Daniel reviewed the CAO Vision and this is one cigar that has generated a ton of discussion in the cigar community. Many people think it is a great cigar, others aren’t real impressed with it. What really generates the controversy though is the packaging. The CAO Vision comes in a pricey box that lights up when you open it. Many cigar smokers are upset about this, because they feel the cigar could be more reasonably priced if it came in a more modest box.

I actually haven’t tried one of these myself, but after reading Daniel’s review I’m going to light up the one I’ve had sitting in my humidor for awhile. Here are some of the reviews from other sites.
Jerry and Walt at Stogie Review thought it was a good cigar, but over priced.
Cigar Live had a tasting panel review this cigar, you can check out multiple reviews of it there.
Doc Stogie Fresh gives his take on the CAO Vision in Episode 55 of the Stogie Fresh 5 Podcast.
Brian didn’t care for it won’t and probably wouldn’t smoke it again even if offered one.
Bender at NeoZAZ didn’t give the CAO Vision high marks either.
As you can see the reviews are mixed on this cigar, but it might be worth giving it at least one try. Everyone has different tastes.

This was a good cigar.I agree witht the idea that if it were in a more modest box,the cigar would be better priced according tothe cigars worth,At best, this cigar should only be a $7-$8 stick. It was very well constructed, and had a great taste, but again,it is not worth the high $$$

Well, officially I’ve upgraded my opinion from “I wouldn’t smoke it with your mouth” to “I’ll give it another shot, but only if somebody gives it to me.” Hey, tastes change, palates evolve. I’m definitely into different stuff now than I was even a month or two ago.
I also revisited the CAO Sopranos and found it to be better than my last experience. Still a bit on the weak side, but pleasant. Sadly, no where near as good as that first one.

CAO’s Midrange stuff is always pretty good for me. I always seem a bit disappointed in their premium cigars so that is one of the reasons I’ve avoided this one so far.
