Pepin Garcia El Centurion Cigar Review
By Jesse | March 9, 2008 |
Today’s winner is Paul Hight (Pablocruze) from Social Cigar. He’s won a 5-Pack of Camacho Cigars and Camacho Hat along with being entered to win our Grand Prize.
The El Centurion is a Nicaraguan Puro created in a very limited production by Jose Pepin Garcia. The filler and binder have been aged 3 years and covered with a flawless Nicaraguan Habano wrapper that has also been aged for 3 years.
This may be the mildest Pepin Garcia cigar that I’ve ever smoked, but WOW what a cigar! It is a medium body cigar That delivers a ton of flavor that remains incredibly smooth, complex, and creamy start to finish. The pre light draw tasted sweet with flavors of straw and toast. (like a good Cuban) Once you have smoked into the body of the cigar you experience blending perfection. Flavors of coffee, toast, nuts and caramel all existing together in harmony. The finish is long with a hint of pepper. Every one of the El Centurions that I have smoked have been flawless in construction and I’ve smoked them till I could no longer hold the little nub.
I love the way that as you smoke a really great cigar the oils pull out and the wrapper gets glossy and sweeter. And no matter how far down you smoke it, the cigar never get’s hot or acrid. Two sure signs that you are enjoying a 5 star cigar.
