Contemplation of a Cigar Smoker
By Jesse | March 15, 2008 |
Scott Rauber submitted this as his entry in our Anniversary Bash Contest. He’s one a 5-Pack of Camacho Cigars and Hat along with a chance at winning the Grand Prize.
What is it about cigar smoking? Just exactly what is it about a hand rolled stogie that captivates the partaker of the leaf?
I believe it’s the aroma the billowing smoke produces as it lingers by the nose. No, I think it’s the taste on the pallet that varies from each cigar. Or is it be the appearance of a perfectly tight-fitting, golden bronze leaf that holds the mystery within. Could it be the amount of opportunities that a cigar goes hand in hand with, like: golfing, grilling, tailgating, horse races, campfires, and the great outdoors. Or is it the foods and or beverages that perfectly fit a cigar, like: wine, beer, and or a hearty steak.
Maybe it’s simply those who accompany us when we engage setting flame to our cigar.
Wait a minute, I believe it’s the hope, the looking forward to of all these things rolled into one moment, one slice of time that, one experience that is like no other that captures those who enjoy cigars.
Whatever it is, when the cigar is over, the contemplation, the anticipation begins again.

For me personally it is the great deep conversations about life that spur from smoking. It’s crazy what will be talked about or contemplated over while smoking a cigar.
