I was recently sent this cigar to try and beside being familiar with Pablo Romay, I didn’t know much about the company. El Titan de Bronze Cigars is located on "Calle Ocho" in the Little Havana district of Miami, Florida and been in business since the Mid 90s cigar boom.
The Redemption is a new addition and marks a new direction for the company. El Titan de Bronze is moving from selling directly from their shop to having their cigars available nationwide.
Pablo Romay is the master roller and blender of El Titan de Bronze and his 25 years experience of blending and rolling comes through in this cigar. Pablo started out at the Romeo y Julieta factory in Cuba before emigrating to the United States in the 1990s.
The official release date is going to be at the IPCPR Show in Las Vegas. They are trying their hardest to get them in as many shops as they can before then, because of the demand.
Construction:
All the sizes I tried were well made. I only had one with a major fault near the cap, but I think that may have been from the shipping company that must have stacked concrete blocks on the package. Even that cigar was easily smoked.
Burn:
Some touching up was needed on some, but nothing out of the ordinary. Ash was dark gray and held on well.
Flavor:
This cigar starts out with a touch of leather and pepper right out of the gate. At the one inch mark I picked up some woodiness, a mix of oak and cedar.
Around the start of the middle third, the Redemption picks up some coffee notes. The woodiness and black pepper were still there hanging on.
The coffee, woodiness and black pepper were the predominate flavors throughout the rest of the cigar. Occasionally the cigar would have a mix of a sweeter note in it reminding of a fresh bell pepper.
Verdict:
I’m hooked. I’m actually kinda bummed out because I’m smoking the last one as a write this. I tried a variety of sizes and found the corona and torpedo to be my favorites. This is a fuller bodied and strength cigar so it makes a great after dinner smoke. Getting your hands on one, may be tough at this point so you may want to try calling El Titan de Bronze directly to get a hold of them.
