While preparing err… procrastinating in writing this review I took a moment to read through the Perdomo History. It is actually one of best ones I’ve seen. The story of their struggles from escaping Cuba to becoming one of the largest cigar manufacturers is very interesting.
Alight, on to the cigar itself. The Perdomo Habano Maduro and Corojo were released in 2007 and contain a blend of Nicaraguan tobacco from three different growing regions. I grabbed a handful of the torpedoes a few weeks ago, and found myself quickly smoking my way through them. Monday I picked up a few more so I could stop delaying and write the review.
Construction:
This is one of those cigars that catches your eye when you step into a humidor. The Perdomo Habano Maduro has a dark oily sheen and a very intricate large band. The band at the foot tells you it’s a maduro, but that’s just stating the obvious.
The wrapper is smooth to the touch and the cigar has a good heft to it. The draw was never an issue but typically I had to pull the band off right away because it was too close to the head.
Burn:
I’ve burned my way through a few of these and the burn has been good almost every time, except for maybe the occasional touch up. My only real complaint here is that these cigars do seem to go out easily. More than once I found myself having to relight, especially since I often get distracted while I’m smoking.
Flavor:
The Perdomo Habano Maduro starts off with a predominate earthen flavor with maybe a touch of woodiness to it. After an inch or so the woodiness faded away and I picked up on some coffee and cocoa that had a touch of creaminess to it. These flavors hung on for the rest of the smoke, but I did pick up some black pepper after the half way point.
Verdict:
This cigar has been one of my go to smokes for the past couple of weeks. It makes a fantastic end of day smoke. The strength isn’t overpowering and it has the flavors I really enjoy in a good maduro. I recommend this be one of the cigars you pick up on your next buying spree.

I love the pictures! You’re really taking to that Nikon.
I must be wussy cause I had one of these at a Perdomo event and was slightly light headed afterwards (too defend my wussy-ness, I had skipped lunch and hadn’t had dinner yet).
Have you tried the Connecticut? Thats more up my alley.

Thanks, I need to start making them a bit more interesting. I’m still using the camera in the “dummy” modes and need to figure out how to use all the features.
