La Aurora Cigars Website Review

by Jesse on May 3, 2008

This was one of the harder sites to find, but after a little bit of searching I finally came across La Aurora’s Website. A friend of mind introduced me to the La Aurora Preferidos when I’d just started smoking cigars and I’ve enjoyed them ever since. This was the first Cameroon wrappered cigar I smoked and it set the bar very high.

La Auroa Cigars Website

Cigars: A
Overall the cigar listings are very good. You have to look under the news section for details on the new releases, but all the information is broken out well. I’d like to see a few more pictures on some of the blends. It would also be nice to see pictures of the tubed cigars outside their tubes. One of the things I do like is that they list the body profile of each cigar.

Company: A
This another one of those companies that has a long history in the cigar industry and they’ve got it all laid out on the site. The contact information is all found on one page, no hunting around in different sections like I had to do on some other sites. The News section lists their three newest blends being released, but nothing else.

Website Features and Usability: A-
The site is very easy to navigate and doesn’t use too many bells and whistles. The collapsible cigar sections were not obvious on some of the lines and took a minute to figure out. The feature I’m disappointed in is the "Where to Buy" section. It lists only the distributor’s site for each region and not actual retailers.

Recommendations:
Overall this is a very useable site. The first thing I’d change is add a listing of retailers or at least make sure my distributors had one. The second thing that needs some work is not only listing new cigars under the news section, but also in the cigar section.

I would also say that they need to change their URL address to make the site more easily found, as well as get some meta-data input so that the site will show up on google.

I had looked for this site earlier this year with no luck.
Thanks for helping me out and posting your review!

Yeah I meant to say something about that too. They definitely need to grab laaurora.com. I think they were on page 10 when I did a Google Search.
