Puros Indios Viejo Toro Cigar

Puros Indios (Reyes Family Cigars), has been around for years. Nearly everyone has heard of the hard working Mr. Reyes Sr. He is considered one of the best in the industry. This particular cigar has been rated 91 in Cigar Aficionado. This cigar is rolled then aged an additional 4 years for smoothness.

Prelight: Slightly rough wrapper with some small veins, but with oily and firm feel. This cigar feels good in the hand and mouth.

Lighting: Easy to light, with mild pepper and a light spice I could not put my finger on. Much smoother than I had expected, with tons of smoke to enjoy.

Burn:  About 1 inch in it started to burn uneven, not too bad and tried to correct itself. Long firm ash, very little tapping with this one.

One Third: About one third of the way in I did touch up the burn, the taste was great, still medium to full. I can only describe the way the cigar feels in the mouth and fingers, its firm, tasty, not bitter at all. Some cigars have great mouth appeal they just feel right, this is one. You will have to find out for yourself. I think you will agree.

Flavor: Mild Pepper, spices, and nuts, a hint of wood. And a wood and leather smell with volumes of smoke. The strength built as the burn increased but was still on the mild side of a full body cigar. Perhaps due to the extra aging from the factory and from myself. I smoked this one almost to the nub and still was good.

Great draw all the way down, huge clouds of smoke that had a warm nutty aroma, very pleasing to the nose. A slight irregular burn, not bad, and I tend to smoke fast anyway. I would highly recommend this cigar to my friends. Great taste and mouth feel, wonderful aroma, kind to all the senses. A very pleasurable smoke, one of the best from Reyes Family Cigar. Great for beginners and experienced smokers alike.

Nice review. I’ve been aware of Puros Indios for years but somehow have yet to try one.
