As I said in the La Aurora Connoisseur Selection Brazil Cigar Review, I want to work my way through these different cigars and see how the difference in wrappers affect the flavor. Once I’ve done finished those up I plan to light up the La Aurora 1945 Robusto and see how they compare.
Construction: While the Brazil could be a bit rough looking, the Corojo is a beautiful looking smoke. The light brown wrapper is finely veined with soft feel to it. It feels very firm with just a slight give when pressed.
Burn: There was a big difference between this one and the Brazil. This cigar had a much tighter ash that held on nicely. My only issue seemed to be with the cigar going out occasionally, but that was probably from neglect and contributed to the bit of burn issue I had in the last third.
Flavor: What I love about these blends is it shows how much difference a wrapper has in the flavor profile of a cigar. The La Aurora Connoisseur Selection Corojo starts off with spice and cedar. The spice left the tongue tingling and reminded me of a mix of cayenne and cinnamon. About an inch or so into the smoke a creaminess developed to compliment the spice. Through most of the smoke the mix of cream, spice and cedar held on. The cigar ended much like it started a mix of spice and wood.
Verdict: While both are great smokes, I think I prefer the Corojo over the Brazil. If you’ve been following my reviews though you’ll find I typically prefer Corojo. The burn and ash were not as bad on Corojo and I didn’t have to mind the cigar as much.

I would like to try these cigars to educate myself further about the different wrapper flavors. Thanks for reviewing them.
very nice review! thats a beautiful looking cigar too!
Definitely a great smoke, a pain to find the cigar online though. Probably easier to find it in a local shop. I’ve got the Cameroon on deck as my next review.
