CAO Brazilia Box Press Cigar

I’m finally getting around to reviewing one of my go to cigars, the CAO Brazilia. This is actually the first time I’ve smoked the new Box Press. I was a bit worried because many of the other reviews I read complained about the burn on this cigar.

Construction: Like almost every CAO I’ve smoked, this cigar is beautiful. The Brazilian wrapper is almost black with a nice oily sheen to it. The cigar has a slight give to it, but no glaring soft spots. The prelight draw was easy and had a surprising amount of flavor in it, but I couldn’t quite place it.

The burn got a touch ugly here.

Burn: This cigar burned very well for me, I only had to touch it up once. The ash held on very well, only coming loose when I tapped it off.

The burn evened out nicely with a little touch up.

Flavor: Tall and tan and young and lovely… err wait I think that is a song. Right off the bat this cigar hits you with a blast of black pepper, but that soon mellows out and moves into the background. Wood, earth and coffee come to the forefront. The cigar also had a smooth creaminess about it, making it very easy to smoke. Around the half way point towards the start of the final third the cigar picked up a rich dark chocolate flavor. With about an inch or so left the cigar went from neglect so I laid it to rest.

Verdict: I didn’t have the severe burn issues I had other people mention, but it did require a couple touch ups. I still love the Brazilia line and definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a full flavored cigar. You may also want to check Alex’s review of the CAO Brazilia Gol!

The Brazilia is such a good cigar. I haven’t tried all the different sizes yet, but I really love this cigar. Definitely one of my favourites lately.

Awesome review! I know you spelled it for me on Twitter but for the losers not on Twitter can you give us a spelling of that $40 rum?
