IPCPR Trade Show Day Two and Three

By Jesse | July 17, 2008 |

Alright I’m not exactly sober so this could be a bit of a rambling mess. None of this is in order I’m writing it down as I think of it.

Last track of how much I drank and smoked the past two days, I think my taste buds are long gone.

It was cool to check out Casa Fuente last night, but I feel a bit violated by the prices. $19 for a Short Story?!?! Picked up two of the Casa Fuentes though.

I’m not sure where the hell this water comes from but they want $15 for a large bottle of water at Casa Fuente. I settled for a much cheaper beverage.

Tuesday was a blur I’m trying to remember who I talked to, everyone was very busy so it was hard to talk with very many people.

My first stop both days is at the La Tradicion Cubana booth. I got a chance to talk with Brad from Jameson Cigars, Luis Sanchez and a few others. Great people to sit down and chat with while I wait for the coffee to kick in.

I talked with Willie and Pablo over at El Titan de Bronze on Tuesday. Tried a Lancero version of the Redemption and really enjoyed it.

Both Tuesday night and Wednesday night I went to Camacho’s party. I loved the atmosphere, perfect for sitting down and chatting with people. Tuesday night was a gathering of bloggers. Wednesday night it was Walt and I trying to see how much Scotch we could drink in two hours. I’m not sure if it was because it was on Camacho’s tab or the waitress was cute.

After being kicked out of The V Bar when Camacho’s Party ended on Wednesday night we hit up the bar in the center of the Venetian. Met up with Gary from Avalon and had a nice chat about what they have going on. I talked with my local sales rep for Oliva for quite awhile and that was great.

Besides Brian, I’ve yet to get too many awkward pictures of anyone. There is still tomorrow.

Did a quick interview with the Doc Stogie Fresh. I hope to do some of my own tomorrow around the show.

Illusione was swamped on Monday and Tuesday. I went to stop in on Wednesday and they’ve got “Sold Out” signs all over the booth and no one around. I tracked down Dion hanging out in Pete Johnson’s booth and asked him about it. Sounds like most of the cigars already in storage and what he plans to have made in the next few months are now spoken for, so it might be a good time to grab a box if you can find them.

Spent some time talking with Andy at Xikar. He’s a great guy and they might be willing to do a sponsor a contest in the future on the site.
