J Fuego Delirium Robusto Cigar Review

If you pay attention to the cigar news at all or read this site you've probably heard of the Xikar Defiance. Jesus Fuego is the man behind that cigar, and the J. Fuego Cigars are his own line. While at the Trade Show in Las Vegas, I ran into the guys from The Party Source. They asked if I saw anything they don't carry that I thought was worth checking out. I didn't even have to think about it, I sent them over to meet with Jesus Fuego. Now I can pick up these cigars locally, they picked up all his lines.

Construction: The Delirium is a good looking cigar with a Brazilian wrapper. It looks like dark roasted coffee beans, with a slight toothiness to the wrapper. The cigar is very firm and I found the draw to be just a tad tight, but it loosened up once lit.

Burn: This is by far one of the best burning cigars I've had in a long time. The J. Fuego Delirium burned slowly and dead even the entire time. The ash held on very well, only coming loose with a very firm tap.

Flavor: The J. Fuego Delirium starts off a definite wood flavor that hangs on while the cigar warms up. It doesn't take long for a predominate cocoa flavor to come out along with a creamy smoothness. As the cigar progress the flavors become sweeter and there is some spice lingering there too. Picked out some hints of a sweet berry like flavor, along with the chocolate.

Verdict: It has been a very long time since I've nubbed a cigar to the point where I needed a tooth pick to hold it. The two Deliriums I've had so far I just couldn't put down. Track these down and buy some, I don't care what kind of cigar you typically smoke. This cigar is simply fantastic.

Great post, I just brought back 2 cases of Cohiba Espléndidos and apparently they were worth like $500 in resort stores and worth about $50 a piece back home (Canada). I have only smoked one of the 50 I have, not sure if I want to just try and sell them somewhere or what. I’ll have to try one of those for only $6 can’t go wrong…

A few places online do sell these, I’m not sure if they ship to Canada or not. Good luck! I know Adam who comments here gets frustrated with my reviews, because he can never find the cigars I review.

Bryn, if you bought esplendidos for $6/piece, chances are they are fake. Google for a guide on how to spot a fake Cohiba.

Cigar Inspector, I think he was referring to the cigar I smoked for $6. :)

Man Jesse. You sure do cut it close. Right at the band. I don’t have the talent or patience for that.

The bands were glued on pretty tight and I wasn’t paying real close attention to it. :)

Next thing I know is that I’m going to take the picture and realize I’ve almost started to smoke the bands.

Ha, yes, unfortunately, I do have trouble finding some of the cigars you review. A lot of them are American market only, and can’t even be shipped to Canada. I guess the availability of legal Cubans up here balances things out? (Not that I buy Cubans very often…they’re getting more and more expensive, to the point where a lot of us can only afford to buy single sticks, or maybe a 3-pack, instead of a whole box.)

I’m checking with one of my local shops that does sell stuff online and over the phone for you Adam to see if they ship outside the country.

Thanks, Jesse, that’d be awesome.

This smoke sounds fantastic Jesse! I love Brazilian maduro wrappers. If I remember corectly there are basically 2 maduro wrappers that come out of Brazil. Do you know which one this is (and what the other is if I’m right)?

Does anyone know where you can find one of these in the Northwest? Cascade and Rich’s don’t carry them :(
