Daniel did a great job reviewing the Kristoff Criollo Churchill back in July so I’m only going to really touch briefly on this cigar.
This rustic looking cigar is very well made and has a nice heft to it. The draw started off a little tight, but opened up nicely in the first inch. The ash was a bit loose and I knocked it off on the table a couple of times.
The cigar starts with some creaminess and nutty flavors. Some definite spice coming out as the cigar warms up. A hint of leather hangs out in the background; I really picked it out on the finish. There is an interesting sweetness that hangs out in this cigar and really comes out in the last half. I’d probably call it a dried apricot flavor.
Verdict: Alex commented on my Kristoff Maduro review that he thought the Criollo was better than the Maduro. I think both are very good and really it would come down to what I’m craving at the moment. Coming in at just over $5 a stick I’d consider it a good buy.

Thanks for the great review! I am acutally just getting ready to type up and post my review of a Kristoff Robusto… aside from a loose fill at the head and foot, the flavors were spot on. Looking forward to trying the Maduro as well.

One other thing to note about this cigar — it burns forever! Smoked this thing for two hours plus. The draw was a little tight and at times I had some problems with smoke production, but a nice leathery medium bodied smoke anyway. Loosen up the draw and this could be a hands down winner.
