Description:
I’ve recently been on a milder cigar kick. I’ve really enjoyed some of the milder smokes I’ve had recently. Next in line is the Dunhill Aged Dominican. Dunhill is a name noted for excellence and class, and this cigar does look classy. The simple blue and white band fit this blend to a tee.
Construction:
This cigar is very appealing to the eye. The wrapper is a nice blond with small veins. It is firm the whole length of the cigar with no soft spots. After a routine cut I found the draw to be loose with very little resistance.
Burn:
The burn was rather spectacular. Straight burn throughout. No touchups and no relights. It burned a bit fast, but not hot. The ash was very light in color and very firm.
Flavor:
This cigar has a nice creamy vanilla flavor with cedar, leather, and nuts in the background to start. The vanilla fades about halfway and the background flavors come to the forefront with a little spice added in.
Verdict:
Overall I enjoyed the Dunhill Aged Dominican. It’s not the most complex cigar I have smoked, but recently I’ve just been craving those flavors you don’t find in many of the stronger blends. This would be a great morning cigar if you wanted to pay the price. I’ll probably smoke them again in the future, but for the sake of not getting kicked out of the house, I’ll stick with something cheaper. Gispert or La Campina, maybe.

I love the way Dunhills look and feel, but I don’t feel that too many retailers carry them.
Does your local store carry them?

Unfortunately, my local store doesn’t carry very much. That’s why I have to order 99% of my cigars online. So, no they don’t carry them. I know someone who usually keeps a box on hand who is willing to trade now and then.
