Don Lino Africa Cigar Review So, there’s a new cigar shop that passes for a decent pub about 10 minutes from my house. I’m working with the owner to beef up his selection (it needs it!!). He turned me on to the Don Lino Africa Duma (robusto) the other night. I must say, I do not normally make first impressions with smokes, but this one looked really good! I totally dig the band! Nice dark oily wrapper! Thick, meaty mutha…smooth veins, and a tad bit lumpy! Quite firm though….

Easy clip, giving me prelight draws of a sweet dusty earthy tobacco. Intriguing…. It had a great draw and was actually looking forward to lighting up. Easy light quickly gave me lots and lots of smoke. Initial flavors of spicy woods and pepper slowly gave way to creamy coffee beans and chocolate. Very interesting… never had a cigar like this! I attribute the subtle albeit noticeable changes to the variety in the blend. It was very good!

I found myself using my torch often to touch up the cigar. Not a great burn: uneven with a slight tunnel-effect. This is no big deal for me and it did not detract from the experience. As mentioned earlier, this bad boy produced a lot of smoke!! It had a very firm ash that had to be knocked off, since I was smoking most of it while driving. It had a great medium flavor, which grew in strength to the end. And I smoked it all the way down!

Verdict: I like it! I’ll smoke more of these!!

Similar Cigars: I just don’t know. Perhaps a Monte Cristo Afrique for the spice, and an old fashion Hoyo de Monterey Excalibur for the cream.

I think it’s pretty clear. Jeff’s name is at the top of the post, no?

If anything, maybe we can put a full byline at the bottom of each review. Or maybe just put it in the tag.
