Description: I have never paid too much attention to the Oliva brand until recently. I won a cigar buy-in fantasy baseball game and the Oliva “O” Toro was in the winnings. This is a good looking stick – a beautiful chocolate brown, very smooth and seamless. Thick and dense and very well constructed!
Easy clip, a little too easy on the draw, giving me prelit flavors of rich tobacco, leather, and cedar. Upon lighting, the leather and cedar were quite distinct, yet very subtle. Coffee and nut flavors took center stage, and that rich tobacco enveloped the other flavors into a complex smoke! Very nice!!
The cigar gained in strength throughout and the flavors never really changed. Normally, I get tired of a cigar that remains this consistent, but I never tired of this one. The blend was exceptional! Nice creamy, smooth finish.
I smoked this one in the morning and paired it a few cups of black coffee. I touched up the burn several times as it wanted to run on one side. Easy correction with a torch! It got a little hot toward the end, probably because I didn’t let up on it! The ash was interesting, and worth noting: white! Med-Full Flavor, Med-Full Strength.
Verdict: I’m quickly becoming an Oliva fan!
Similar Cigars: The flavor reminded me of a Montesino maduro. The consistency reminded my of the Punch Rothschild maduro maduro.

I don’t think you can wrong with the Serie O, V or G from Oliva. All are excellent tasting cigars as well as great value for the buck. The Sol Cubana line from Oliva is excellent as well.
