I got a chance to meet Yadi at the IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas after hearing a little bit about the company from Doc Stogie Fresh. I’ve been meaning to get around to reviewing these cigars for ages, but since my samples were few I was saving them for a time when I know I could pay attention to the cigar.
The looks and construction remind me a quite a bit of the CAO Maduro. A dark, box-pressed maduro with a red and gold band and a firm, heavy fill to it. Not sure if it tastes like the CAO Maduro since it has been awhile since I’ve had one.
Earthy maduro flavors really come out as dominating tone with a heavy amount of smoke that lingers nicely in the mouth. As the cigar progressed to the midway point I started to pick out some coffee and spice. The spice never became overpowering, but struck a good balance with the earthiness. Great burn on this cigar, I didn’t have to touch it up once. The Ash held on well, typically needing a firm tap to be knocked loose.
Verdict: The flavors in this cigar are what I typically desire when I reach for a maduro, earthy with some spice. I’m having trouble tracking these down online, but from what I’m seeing these are a great bang for the buck.
