Help Me Pick My New Job Celebration Cigar and Beverage

by Jesse on August 19, 2011

Well I just got a call that I got a new job. So I plan on getting something special to celebrate and would like some suggestions. I’m looking for a box of cigars under $200 and a nice beverage to pair with it.

Cigars I prefer on the fuller side and I’m fond of rums and bourbons, but open to trying something else.

Try a Buena vista cigar.

I always like a Fuente Hemingway for nice occasions, though that might be too mild for you. I bet you could get a box of Oliva Serie V (very affordable firepower) and a bottle of Buffalo Trace to do the trick.

Good luck!!

To treat yourself, I “strongly” recommend Booker’s Bourbon ( It runs 121-127 proof (since it is bottled cask-strength), but more than strength, it has a wonderful flavor that releases well with a few drops of water. To go with that, you’d have a hard time finding a richer full-flavor cigar than the Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970.

P.S. Forgot to add that the J de N Antano 1970 is priced WELL under your $200 target. You can get a box of 20 for $130 + S&H at Cigars Int’l ( Comparable prices available many places; even some of my B&Ms are competitive, since you don’t pay S&H.

Bookers is great.
something else to consider is Four Roses Single Barrel…quite yummy and a little less damage to the pocketbook.
Zaya for rum!
Cozo for tequila!! very good.

San Cristobol.
oh,,,,,so many, many to choose from!

good luck!
