Friday, October 3rd, 2008So, there’s a new cigar shop that passes for a decent pub about 10 minutes from my house. I’m working with the owner to beef up his selection (it needs it!!). He turned me on to the Don Lino Africa Duma (robusto) the other night. I must say, I do not normally make first impressions with smokes, but this one looked really good! I totally dig the band! Nice dark oily wrapper! Thick, meaty mutha…smooth veins, and a tad bit lumpy! Quite firm though….
Cigar Review: Dunhill Aged Dominican Peravia
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008Description:
I’ve recently been on a milder cigar kick. I’ve really enjoyed some of the milder smokes I’ve had recently. Next in line is the Dunhill Aged Dominican. Dunhill is a name noted for excellence and class, and this cigar does look classy. The simple blue and white band fit this blend to a tee.
Cigar Review: Isla de Cuba Aged Maduro
Monday, September 29th, 2008I’m continuing to work my way through all the cigars I got at the IPCPR in Las Vegas. Last week I took a look at the Isla de Cuba Classic, a creamy surprising fuller flavored Connecticut. This review takes a look at the Isla de Cuba Aged Maduro.
Cigar Review: Isla de Cuba Classic
Thursday, September 25th, 2008I’d read a couple Isla de Cuba reviews over at Stogie Guys, but other than that I’d never heard of these cigar prior to meeting up with them at the 2008 IPCPR Trade Show. The cigars I got from them went into my humidor with all the other stuff I’d gotten and at the time I didn’t think anything more of it until a few weeks later, Darryl gave me a call and offered to send me a couple more samples. The first one to face the cutter and light was the Classic.
Cigar Review: Camacho Select Robusto
Thursday, September 18th, 2008When the prize for the last contest was sent to me a few extras were in the box. One of those extras was a box of the new blend of the Camacho Select. While the old Select was a good smoke, it wasn’t one of my go to cigars. Released with a new band and tweaked blend I was looking forward to giving it another try.
