I’ve talked quite a bit about the cigars from Jesus Fuego quite a bit this week, so I decided to finish out the week by looking at what others have said. The cigar the first introduced me to J.Fuego was the Xikar Defiance, even though I’d probably smoked cigars in the past that he’s responsible for blending. At the IPCPR Trade Show I got a chance to meet him and was introduced to the Triple 7, Delirium and Gran Reserva Corojo No. 1.

You’ve heard several cigar bloggers talk about the cigars that Don Pepin makes and one of those was my Top Cigar of 2007. Well the cigars from J. Fuego are now the ones I’m raving about. If someone in my local tobacconists humidor asks my opinion on what to buy, at least one of the cigars Irecommend is his. Alright I hope I’ve done enough to convey my enthusiasm for these cigars, time to see what the other lunatics on the web have to say about them.

Delirium Reviews:

• Her Humidor went cuckoo over it.
• Doc Stogie Fresh enjoyed it but prefers the Corojo. He featured the cigar in Episode 123.
• Puffing Cigars gave it high marks too.
• Walt at Stogie Review agrees that you’ll be hearing Fuego as much as you here Pepin soon.

Gran Reserva Corojo No. 1 Reviews:

• Smoke Reviews enjoyed it, but had trouble with loose ash.
• Walt at Stogie Review loved it, but the price put it out of the every day smoke range.
• Cigar Command didn’t enjoy it.

Xikar Defiance:

• A Cigar Smoker’s Journal loved it.
• Walt at SR and I agree, this cigar needs to be talked about more!
• Brian the Mighty One enjoyed his but had problems with one of the two he smoked.
• Her Humidor loved it, but thought it got boring in the final third.

That’s just a few of the reviews out there. Seriously track down these cigars if you can!

Well it has been awhile since I’ve done a cigar links wrap up so I thought I’d resurrect it for one of my favorite new cigars to come out this year. Originally I got to try the Alec Bradley Tempus just before it was released and really enjoyed it. My local shop recently picked up the Tempus and I got a chance to try the Lancero. The small ring gauge really seems to intensify the flavors and I’m loving it. Unfortunately my shop doesn’t carry anything else by Alec Bradley at the moment so I’ll have to seek some of their other stuff out online.

A few other reviews of the Alec Bradley Tempus.

David Savona of Cigar Aficionado met with Alec Bradley and lit up the Lancero.

The Daily Doormatt enjoyed the cigar, but thought the 94 rating by Cigar Insider was a bit generous. He considers it more of a 90 to 91.

Her Humidor enjoyed the flavor of the corona.

Cigar Monkey seems to have gotten hold of a bad one. I’m tempted to send him one to see if he has better luck.

Brian over at Stogie Review thought it was a stellar smoke.

Zen Cigar seems to have some construction issues with theirs also.

A guest video review over at Stogie Review also featured the Alec Bradley Tempus.

A couple of people seemed to run into some construction issues. I have no idea how many they smoked prior to reviewing the cigar. I know most of us prefer to smoke two or three sticks at least before making a decision. I’ve had about 10 Tempus in different vitolas and haven’t run across any major issues.

One of the frustrating things about running this site is that I have to keep trying new cigars when I’d rather be smoking something I know I like. I reviewed the Oliva Serie O Perfecto Sun Grown last year and have picked one up whenever I have the time to smoke something and not have to review it.

Cigar Beat enjoyed it, but suggests you don’t pair it with a Rum and Coke.

Brian at Stogie Review also smoked the Perfecto and had some problems with the wrapper.

Cigar Advisor tried the Petit Perfecto and gave it an impressive 9.3 rating.

George at Stogie Guys liked the cigar but had some trouble with it so only gave it a 3/5 rating.

The Daily Doormatt enjoyed the Petit Perfecto on his walk to Penn Station.

Well since Jeff and I both smoked the Cabaiguan Guapos I just as well do a round up. The Tatuaje Cabaiguan Guapos is a limited release of the Cabaiguan with an Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper instead of an Ecuadorian Shade Grown Wrapper. Jeff smoked the Guapos and I tried the Guapos 46, both of us loved these cigars so get these while you can.

Here is what some of the other cigar sites thought.

Cigar Blog smoked the Cabaiguan Guapos Exclusivos and really enjoyed it.

Lucky7 and CigarFan at Keepers of the Flame both smoked the Cabaiguan Guapos.

Typically I try and find a cigar that has been talked about quite a bit before I post a links collection on it, but I wanted to draw some attention to this cigar. I want to encourage you to try this cigar as I honestly think it is one of the best cigars for the money.

I raved about the complexity of this smoke in my Dunhill Signed Range Cigar Review a couple of weeks ago. I originally stayed away from the cigar as it is a little more expensive than most, but don’t let that deter you. The cigar is fantastically well made, truly a work of art, and the flavors are fantastic.

There isn’t much out there, but what little I found is all positive:

• Her Humidor smoked the Toro and was impressed with it.
• Cigar Command burned his fingers smoking the Robusto.
• Doc Stogie Fresh does a side by side review of the Dominican and Nicaraguan versions of the Signed Range in Episode 106 of his podcast.

Sadly that is all I could find out there on this fantastic cigar. If you haven’t tried this cigar yet I’d suggest putting this one at the top of your list.

Last week we took a look at the CAO Brazilia, this week I want to take a look at another one from CAO Cigars. As I said in my review the CAO Mx2 has been one of my favorites for a very long time.

The CAO Mx2 was launched at the RTDA Trade Show in 2003. The Mx2 uses two maduro leaves, one as a binder and one as the wrapper. If you haven’t tried this cigar before I’d place it somewhere between the CAO Maduro and CAO Brazilia in flavor and body.

Here is what some of the other cigar sites thought of the CAO Mx2:

• Walt at Stogie Review liked the CAO Mx2, but thought the cigar didn’t finish well.
• Top 25 Cigar gave the Robusto an A-.
• Keepers of the Flame liked the MX2 but prefer the Cusano 18 Paired Maduro.
• Smoke Rings gave the CAO Mx2 a 3.8/5.
• The Blog of Many Hats also liked it. His biggest complaint is that CAO has too many cigars to choose from.
• Coffee and Cigars tried the Dagger, as wasn’t real happy with the draw.
• Bullz Eye rated the CAO Mx2 a 9.1, but also found the cigar didn’t finish well in the last couple of inches.

There are plenty more CAO Mx2 Reviews out there so if you didn’t get your fill here go ahead a do a Google Search it will turn up plenty more.
