Don Pepin Blue – Cigar Links Edition 11

April 5, 2008

Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Cigars are rolled in Pepin Garcia’s Miami Factory, El Rey de los Habanos. Full bodied in strength and flavor it isn’t a cigar for the faint of heart. I originally wrote my Blue Label Generosos Cigar Review back in July of 2007 and this cigar is still a staple in my humidor.

Cigar Links Edition 10: Camacho 10th Anniversary Corojo Cigar

March 29, 2008

When I mentioned to Camacho that I wanted to do a big contest for the 1st Anniversary of relaunching this site they stepped forward with the idea of the daily prizes and giving away a box of the Camacho 10th Anniversary Cigars. I was a bit hesitant at first, because this was a cigar I [...]

Cigar Links Edition 9: Illusione Cigars

March 8, 2008

Illusione Cigars are produced in small batches to retain their high quality. This can make them a frustrating cigar to locate but when you do they are worth it. Another factor contributing to the fun finding this cigar is being listed number 7 in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2007.

Cigar Links Edition 8: CAO Vision

March 1, 2008

This week Daniel reviewed the CAO Vision and this is one cigar that has generated a ton of discussion in the cigar community. Many people think it is a great cigar, others aren’t real impressed with it. What really generates the controversy though is the packaging. The CAO Vision comes in a pricey box that [...]

Cigar Links Edition 7: AVO 787

February 23, 2008

Avo Cigars are some of the first cigars I tried when I first started trying different cigars. I enjoyed them, but I think I would have appreciated them more if I knew the story behind them. The cigars are blended for Avo Uvezian by Hendrik Kelner. Avo is a legendary jazz musician and cigar aficionado, [...]

Cigar Links Edition 6: CAO America

February 16, 2008

The CAO America is probably one of the most talked about cigars this past year. The cigar was hyped as CAO’s fullest bodied cigar yet and featured a Connecticut Shade Wrapper and Connecticut Broadleaf Wrapper. The dual wrappers give this cigar its unique pin stripe appearance. I first got a chance to try it while [...]

Cigar Links Edition 5: Oliva Serie V

February 9, 2008

The Oliva Serie V is one of the best cigars we saw come out in 2007. I remember the first time I tried these at a pre-release event. I stopped by The Party Source for the weekly tasting, found out it was moved down the road. Since I was already there I thought I might as well pick up a few cigars and grabbed the Oliva Serie V Figuardos and headed down to the Beer Sellar. Turns out the cigar being featured was the Oliva Serie V. Jose Oliva and Sam Leccia were on hand for the event.

Cigar Links Edition 4: CAO Cameroon

February 2, 2008

The CAO Cameroon is one of first cigars I smoked with a Cameroon Wrapper. It still is one of the cigars I reach for when I’ve got a Sunday afternoon to sit back relax. I enjoy it because it is probably one of the fuller bodied Cameroons on the market, but the Nicaraguan filler doesn’t over power the flavors of the wrapper. I reviewed the CAO Cameroon Toro back in April 2007, and Daniel reviewed the Belicoso in December 2007.

Cigar Links Edition 3: Arturo Fuente Don Carlos

January 26, 2008

This week’s edition of cigar links covers the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Series. The cigar is named after its legendary creator Don Carlos Fuente Sr. and is considered the “Pride of the Fuente Family”. I originally reviewed the Don Carlos #2 back in March of 2007 and smoke about one a month. Clint chose the [...]

Cigar Links Edition 2: Camacho Diploma

January 19, 2008

This week’s edition of Cigar Links focuses on the Camacho Corojo Diploma. I reviewed the Camacho Diploma Natural back in August 2007. The tobacco in the Diploma is from the “Fifth Priming”. These are the top most leaves taken from the plant last so they get more sun and nutrients. Resulting in a stronger and [...]
