Cigar Review: CAO LX2 Robusto

July 21, 2008

CAO LX2 Robusto Cigar Review

This is my first review from the cigars I got while at the 2008 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas. I figured I’d start with the CAO Lx2, since CAO’s new cigar is the one everyone wants to know about. The Lx2 is part of the x2 series from CAO which includes the Mx2 and the Cx2. I’ve heard some rumors that the Cx2 is going to be discontinued, but didn’t get a chance to confirm that.

Cigar Review: CAO Brazilia Box Press

June 20, 2008

CAO Brazilia Box Press Cigar

I’m finally getting around to reviewing one of my go to cigars, the CAO Brazilia. This is actually the first time I’ve smoked the new Box Press. I was a bit worried because many of the other reviews I read complained about the burn on this cigar.

Cigar Review: Padron 6000 Maduro

June 19, 2008

Padron 6000 Maduro Cigar

Construction: While the one I smoked for this review was beautiful, these have been hit and miss recently. I’ve had some that look like absolute crap. They shouldn’t have even left the factory. So if you are picking up any singles or boxes at your local shop, be sure to look them over before you walk out.

Oliva Serie O – Cigar Links Edition 18

June 15, 2008

One of the frustrating things about running this site is that I have to keep trying new cigars when I’d rather be smoking something I know I like. I reviewed the Oliva Serie O Perfecto Sun Grown last year and have picked one up whenever I have the time to smoke something and not have to review it.

When Alex sent in his CAO Brazilia Gol! Cigar Review, I started kicking myself. I used to smoke this cigar all the time and couldn’t believe I hadn’t reviewed it yet on this site.

Joya de Nicaragua Website Review

May 10, 2008

Doc Stogie Fresh gave me a list of suggested sites and I picked Joya de Nicaragua out of the list. I thought for a moment my search would be futile, I spent a good 20 minutes trying to find the company website.

Cigar Review: CAO Brazilia Gol!

May 8, 2008

The CAO Brazilia has long been one of my favorite smokes–I always have a couple on hand in my humidor. It’s perfect for a quiet, contemplative smoke, which is what I was in the mood for tonight. So I grabbed one of these and headed outside with my MP3 player to enjoy a smoke on the porch. My wife was kind enough to bring me two fingers of scotch to go with it (Talisker Single Malt, Aged 18 Years), and I found that the combination of a beautiful spring evening, some Johnny Cash, and a great cigar and scotch pairing made for a fantastic evening.

Cigar Review: Perdomo Habano Corojo Torpedo

May 2, 2008

If you enjoy that Corojo flavor profile I think you’ll enjoy this one. It is a toss up between this and the Perdomo Habano Maduro on which I like more. I’m actually leaning towards this cigar, but I think most people would prefer the maduro. My list of favorites is starting to include quite a few Perdomo Cigars and this is another one on the list. Set aside some time for this cigar as I’ve found them lasting nearly 2 hours.
