Flor de Oliva Cigar Review

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Several weeks ago, I reviewed the Occidental Reserve, a bundle offering from Dania, Fla. based Alec Bradley. Since then, I’ve smoked some fairly expensive stogies. But it’s time to get back to reality. So for this installment, I give you the Flor de Oliva.

Padilla 1968 Robusto Cigar Review

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Another gorgeous stick! The wrapper has this reddish hue to it that glistens, I thought I’d leave my fingerprints on it. Perfect construction! This sticks look sooooo gooooooood!! Another robusto (5 x 50), and I couldn’t wait to light it up.

Padilla Miami 8/11 Robusto Cigar Review

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

One of my favorite Don Pepin cigars! I was able to score a few of these and couldn’t wait to fire one up One look at this stick and you can easily tell that it is top quality! A beautiful thick deep brown wrapper draped around dense-packed tobacco. This robusto (5 x 50) had some weight to it! And, how about that triple cap?

Mighty fine looking cigar with another flawless construction. It’ll make you drool just looking at it. The 1932 I smoked was the robusto (5 x 50).

Oliva Serie V Lancero Cigar Review

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

I reviewed the Oliva Serie V Figurado back in July and have been eagerly awaiting for my local shop to get their latest shipment. Finally, The Party Source got their shipment in and I get a chance to try Lancero that I’ve heard so much about on the cigar forums. The Oliva Serie V Lancero is just as well constructed as its larger brothers, but it isn’t as firm as the larger sizes. The prelight draw had a nice resistance on it, these small ring cigars can often tend to be tight, but I had no complaints with these. Even the prelight draw test had some interesting complexity to it, I picked up a mix of walnuts and sweet grassy flavors.
