Oliva Serie O - Cigar Links Edition 18
Sunday, June 15th, 2008One of the frustrating things about running this site is that I have to keep trying new cigars when I’d rather be smoking something I know I like. I reviewed the Oliva Serie O Perfecto Sun Grown last year and have picked one up whenever I have the time to smoke something and not have to review it.
Cigar Review: Sol Cubano Cuban Classic
Monday, May 19th, 2008The Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet, made in Oliva’s factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, has an extremely smooth, slightly oily, vein-free Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. If you give it a whiff, you’ll definitely notice its nice sweet-and-spicy scent.
Once I lit up, I found the Cuban Cabinet had a great draw that was consistent through several sticks. Now, I’ve read some posts around the blogosphere complaining about the draw on this cigar. Since it’s still a pretty new blend, perhaps Fernandez is still working out the kinks. Anyway, you’ll get no complaints from me.
Nub Habano 460 Cigar Review
Thursday, April 3rd, 2008Sam’s aim behind the Nub is to isolate the best part of each leaf and only use it in the cigars. While this makes for some rather short cigar the girth makes up for it. The 460 burns nearly as long as a Churchill.
Cigar Links Edition 5: Oliva Serie V
Saturday, February 9th, 2008The Oliva Serie V is one of the best cigars we saw come out in 2007. I remember the first time I tried these at a pre-release event. I stopped by The Party Source for the weekly tasting, found out it was moved down the road. Since I was already there I thought I might as well pick up a few cigars and grabbed the Oliva Serie V Figuardos and headed down to the Beer Sellar. Turns out the cigar being featured was the Oliva Serie V. Jose Oliva and Sam Leccia were on hand for the event.
Flor de Oliva Cigar Review
Thursday, January 3rd, 2008Several weeks ago, I reviewed the Occidental Reserve, a bundle offering from Dania, Fla. based Alec Bradley. Since then, I’ve smoked some fairly expensive stogies. But it’s time to get back to reality. So for this installment, I give you the Flor de Oliva.
